Better parks and facilities

Councillor Hermann Vorster believes local kids, sporting clubs and community groups deserve the best facilities. His approach makes the most of our open space: lifting amenity, improving safety and attracting family events.

His priorities include:

More amenities

Upgrade and construct new toilets near major playgrounds. And lobby for vandal-proof soap dispensers in all suburban public toilets.

Better lighting

Install more lighting in busy parks and along popular recreational walks.

Better playgrounds

Renovate more parks with new playgrounds, shade and water stations

Hermann’s track record

Robina City Parklands

Secured $15 million for a new destination parkland opposite cBus Super Stadium including playgrounds, events space, nature walks, function space, etc.

Rescued 5.5ha of open space

Negotiated to secure 5.5 hectares of developable land as public open space.

“Robina councillor Hermann Vorster said negotiations had been ongoing with the developer for more than a year.”

“What we have done here is rescue 5.5ha of prime land from future development,” he said.”

“This unprecedented result means thousands upon thousands of locals will now have more open space.”
